project overview

Green Design & Construct was engaged to renew an established landscape, improving its condition, presentation and ongoing maintainability.

The project addressed several interconnected requirements, including vegetation removal, irrigation repairs, soil-profile improvement and the cleaning of surrounding hard surfaces. Together, these works rehabilitated the area and established a stronger foundation for its continued care within a high-profile public setting.

Delivering within an operational healthcare environment

Working within an active hospital precinct required careful planning, controlled site preparation and efficient use of resources.

The works needed to be completed safely and methodically in an area used by patients, visitors, staff and the wider community. Materials, equipment and removed vegetation also required responsible management throughout delivery to maintain an orderly environment around the work area.

GDC coordinated the project through defined stages, progressing from vegetation removal and irrigation repairs to soil improvement, surface cleaning and final site presentation. This structured approach supported efficient delivery within the operational facility.

The works brought together:

  • Removal of existing vegetation and area preparation

  • Repair of the irrigation drip-line system

  • Introduction of 12 tonnes of organic soil mix

  • Rehabilitation of the existing soil profile

  • Pressure cleaning of adjacent hard surfaces

  • Responsible removal disposal of green waste

  • Coordinated labour and resource allocation within an operational hospital environment

Project outcomes:

The completed works renewed a prominent area of the hospital landscape, improving its condition, presentation and ongoing maintainability, including:

  • Improved landscape condition and visual presentation

  • A healthier, better-prepared soil profile

  • Restored irrigation functionality

  • Cleaner surrounding hard surfaces

  • A stronger foundation for long-term landscape performance

Build. Maintain. Sustain.

This project demonstrates GDC’s ability to deliver coordinated landscape renewal within a critical public facility.

By combining practical site preparation, landscape rehabilitation and maintenance-focused planning, GDC improved the performance and presentation of an established public landscape while working within the requirements of an operational health environment.
