Beyond the built environment, we believe in building stronger communities

At Green Design & Construct, creating lasting value means looking beyond the projects we deliver. Through sponsorships, donations, practical support and inclusive employment practices, we invest in the wellbeing of people and the places our communities share.

Pregnancy and early parenthood can bring significant emotional and mental health challenges. Gidget Foundation Australia provides specialist perinatal mental health support for expectant, new and potential parents, helping families access compassionate care.

GDC was proud to support the enhancement of Gidget House Fairfield with a combination of donated materials and practical expertise. Our contribution included courtyard materials, improvements to the external environment, landscaping and outdoor amenity support, and consultation on acoustic and soundproofing solutions.

Together, these improvements helped create a welcoming and therapeutic setting for women, partners and families accessing vital support services. It is a practical example of how our construction and landscape capabilities can contribute to wellbeing beyond the projects we deliver every day.

Supporting safer futures for children and young people

Supporting Future Generations

Every child and young person has the right to feel safe, wherever they live, learn and play. The Alannah & Madeline Foundation works to help children recover and heal from trauma, prevent bullying, improve online safety and advocate for systems that uphold children’s rights.

GDC proudly supports the Foundation through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives that help raise awareness of this important work. Our support contributes to a broader mission: helping children affected by violence and trauma, strengthening safe and inclusive learning environments, supporting families and building more resilient communities.

By standing behind the Foundation, we are helping amplify a message that matters to us: safety gives children and young people the opportunity to be happy, hopeful and strong.

Centennial Parklands is a much-loved place for recreation, learning, sport and connection. GDC has begun supporting the Centennial Parklands Foundation with a $5,000 donation, extending our community contribution to the green spaces that bring people together.

This support aligns closely with our landscape and grounds expertise and with our belief that healthy, accessible public spaces strengthen communities. Funding opportunities identified by the Foundation include habitat boxes for native species, nature-based education for children, and bushcare activities such as weed control, litter removal and habitat restoration.

Our involvement marks the beginning of a relationship focused on the ongoing care, resilience and enjoyment of the Parklands for generations to come.

Our social responsibility starts within our own business. GDC is committed to equal opportunity employment, inclusive recruitment and career development that gives people from different backgrounds the chance to contribute, grow and lead.

Women represent approximately half of our workforce and contribute across leadership and management, project delivery, landscape and grounds maintenance, sustainability and compliance, administration and client services. In an industry that has historically lacked gender diversity, we are proud to help drive change through meaningful participation and visible pathways.

We are also committed to increasing opportunities for Indigenous Australians and including Indigenous-owned businesses in our supply chain wherever practical. By pursuing employment, mentoring and alliance opportunities, we aim to create relationships that are respectful, enduring and mutually beneficial.
